Contemporary poems by Sabine Jörg meet works by women composers from the early 20th century to 2026, including Nadia Boulanger, Alma Mahler, Rebecca Clarke, Paule Maurice, Gloria Coates, Dorothee Eberhardt, Dorothea Hofmann, Narine Khachaturyan, and Eva Kuhn. Voice, hammered dulcimer, and zither: Dream of One's Own Days reimagines Schumann's cycle Frauenliebe und -leben in a sensual, bold, and contemporary way. Three musicians let the familiar songs appear in a new light through an unusual instrumentation of voice, hammered dulcimer, and zither. With live electronics and new compositions, a charged dialogue emerges between Romanticism and the present. The concert questions traditional images of women, asks about love and self-determination, and combines musical intimacy with experimental sound art. Poetic, surprising, and moving - a concert that retells old stories and resonates long afterward.
